This Privacy Policy explains the general principles that Lokmanhekim Law Firm ("the Firm") applies to the protection of personal data and privacy in connection with this website ("the Site"). It should be read together with the Privacy Notice, which contains the clarification text required under Article 10 of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data No. 6698 ("KVKK"), and the Cookie Policy, which explains the cookies used on the Site.

1. Our Commitment to Confidentiality

Confidentiality is at the core of the practice of law. Beyond the requirements of the KVKK, the Firm is bound by the attorney's duty of professional secrecy under Article 36 of the Attorneyship Law No. 1136, which prohibits attorneys from disclosing matters entrusted to them in the course of their professional activity. All information shared with the Firm in connection with a legal matter is handled within this framework of professional privilege and statutory confidentiality.

2. Principles We Follow

In processing personal data, the Firm acts in accordance with the general principles set out in Article 4 of the KVKK. Personal data is processed lawfully and fairly; kept accurate and, where necessary, up to date; processed for specified, explicit, and legitimate purposes; kept relevant, limited, and proportionate to those purposes; and retained only for as long as required by law or by the purpose of the processing.

3. What Data We Process and Why

The categories of personal data processed through the Site, the purposes and legal grounds of the processing, and the rights you may exercise are described in detail in the Privacy Notice. In summary, the Firm processes the data you provide through the contact form and the online appointment booking feature, together with limited technical data generated by your visit, in order to respond to your inquiries, manage consultation appointments, operate the Site securely, and comply with its legal obligations.

The Firm collects only the data that is necessary for these purposes. You are not required to create an account to browse the Site.

4. Data Security

Pursuant to Article 12 of the KVKK, the Firm takes appropriate technical and administrative measures to ensure a level of security proportionate to the nature of the data processed. These measures include, among others: transmission of Site traffic over an encrypted (SSL/TLS) connection, restriction of access to personal data to persons who need it for the stated purposes, confidentiality obligations binding anyone acting on the Firm's behalf, and the keeping of correspondence and file records in systems protected by access controls. Where data is processed on the Firm's behalf by service providers, the Firm ensures that equivalent obligations apply to them.

5. Sharing of Personal Data

The Firm does not sell personal data and does not share it with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Personal data is disclosed only in the limited situations described in the Privacy Notice: to authorized public bodies where required by law, to service providers to the extent necessary for the operation of the Site, and where necessary for the establishment, exercise, or protection of legal rights.

6. Hosting and International Transfers

The Site is operated on the infrastructure of Wix.com Ltd. As a result, data collected through the Site may be hosted on servers located outside Türkiye. Cross-border transfers are carried out in accordance with Article 9 of the KVKK, as amended by Law No. 7499, relying on an adequacy decision where available, on appropriate safeguards such as the standard contract announced by the Personal Data Protection Board, or, in their absence, on the conditions for occasional transfers, including explicit consent where required. Details are provided in the Privacy Notice.

7. Retention and Destruction

Personal data is retained for the period required by the purpose of the processing and by applicable statutory retention and limitation periods, and is then erased, destroyed, or anonymized in accordance with Article 7 of the KVKK and the Regulation on the Erasure, Destruction or Anonymization of Personal Data.

8. Children

The Site is intended for a general professional audience and is not directed at children. The Firm does not knowingly collect personal data from minors through the Site. If you believe that a minor has provided personal data through the Site, please contact the Firm so that it can be deleted.

9. Third-Party Websites

The Site may contain links to external websites, including the websites of courts, bar associations, and official institutions. The Firm has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, the content or privacy practices of external websites. This Policy applies only to the Site.

10. Your Rights

Your rights under Article 11 of the KVKK, and the procedure for exercising them, are set out in the Privacy Notice. In short, you may apply to the Firm to learn whether your data is processed, request information, rectification, erasure, or destruction, object to results arising from exclusively automated analysis, and claim compensation for unlawful processing. Applications are concluded free of charge within thirty days at the latest.

11. Changes to This Policy

The Firm may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legislation, in the decisions and guidance of the Personal Data Protection Authority, or in the features of the Site. The current version, together with its date of last update, is always available on this page.
